What Is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry helps patients feel deeply relaxed during dental treatment while remaining conscious and able to respond to instructions.
At Lux Dental, we provide intravenous (IV) conscious sedation, which works quickly to reduce anxiety and create a feeling of calm throughout your appointment. Many patients remember very little about their treatment afterwards, making it an ideal solution for those with dental phobia or severe anxiety.
Throughout your procedure, your heart rate, oxygen levels and blood pressure will be carefully monitored by our trained team, ensuring your safety and comfort at every stage.
What to Expect
Yur journey begins with a consultation where we’ll discuss your dental needs, medical history and any concerns you may have.
If conscious sedation is appropriate, we’ll explain exactly how it works, provide clear instructions before your appointment, and answer any questions you have.
On the day of treatment, the sedative is administered through a small cannula placed in your arm or hand. Within minutes, you’ll begin to feel deeply relaxed while remaining awake and able to communicate with the dental team.
Once your treatment has been completed, you’ll spend a short time recovering before being discharged into the care of a responsible adult who can accompany you home.
Our team will also provide detailed aftercare advice to ensure your recovery is smooth and comfortable.
