Transform Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are used to mask the underlying tooth by improving its shape, colour and sometimes position. Made by highly-skilled technicians, when placed by our experts here at Lux Dental, their finished appearance is so good that it’s hard to tell the difference between the veneers and natural teeth.
Dental veneers are often made from porcelain in a laboratory, but can also be made from composite and placed directly at the chairside in a single visit. This is more commonly referred to as composite bonding.
Porcelain veneers can be the best option for patients if they have:
Large gaps between teeth

Persistent Discolouration

Uneven Tooth Shape

Irreparable Chipped Teeth

Veneers Treatment Journey

Stage 1 - Consultation
During your consultation, your dentist will assess your suitability for porcelain veneers and talk through any questions you may have.

Stage 2 - Treatment
This treatment requires a minimum of 2 appointments to be completed. The tooth is usually numbed first using local anaesthetic. The dentist will then prepare the tooth on the first appointment and will take impressions (moulds) of your teeth to send to the laboratory. The veneers done at Lux Dental are minimal prep veneers. We aim to conserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible so very little preparation is carried out.
The technician at the lab will use the impressions to make a high quality and extremely aesthetic porcelain veneer, unique to each patient, which will fit perfectly over your tooth. The veneer will be made to match the shade of your teeth. Patients have often had teeth whitening prior to having veneers fitted .
On your second appointment, the dentist will try the veneer in and ensure it matches with your adjacent teeth, looks natural and is everything you were expecting from it. We will also ensure it is comfortable in your bite.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How long have you been at the practice, when was it started?
Lux Dental opened its doors in the lovely village of Quorn in December 2021, but the business actually began as an idea in 2015 by Dr. Ravi and Dr. Anjli. After graduating, they had always dreamed of owning their own dental surgery and building it from the ground up. After several years of searching, they finally found the perfect location in Quorn to bring their dream into fruition.
What is the history of the practice?
The dental practice where Lux is currently situated was previously owned by David Armstrong and operated under the name Armstrong Dental. In December 2021, Dr Ravi and Dr Anjli took over the surgery and rebranded it as Lux Dental.
Since taking over the dental surgery, we have significantly evolved the practice and have plans to continue evolving. We have transformed the surgery from a basic dentistry practice to a multidisciplinary one that now offers complex treatments such as root canals, dental implants, Oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry and adult orthodontics
The Practice now
Since taking over the dental surgery in 2021, we have dedicated a lot of time and resources into creating a practice that is both service and technology orientated. We have fully embraced digital technology and now have an intra oral scanner, which can scan teeth for crowns, implants and Invisalign. Additionally, we recently invested in a CT scanner at our sister practice, which helps us provide the best care to our patients by aiding in the diagnosis of any issues. We have also recently invested in a very “snazzy” laser which helps to repair teeth that may have been deemed unrestorable in the past.
Which partners do you have?
At Lux Dental, we only partner with cutting- edge companies that are leaders in dental technology. We offer Invisalign for our patients looking for straight teeth and work with Straumann for dental implants. Additionally, we have an in-house dental plan run in partnership with Practice Plan that gives patients access to quality dental care, whether it be routine or emergency.
