What are Dentures?
Dental dentures are typically crafted to replace multiple missing teeth. They can be made from acrylic or include metal components. Modern dentures are designed to look very natural and are generally comfortable for the patient to wear. However, it is important to note that dentures are not permanently fixed in place. Instead, they rest on the gums and sometimes attach to adjacent teeth for support.

Benefits of Dentures

Versatile
Dentures are completely reversible and do not require adjustment or reliance on adjacent teeth. They are also completely reversible and can be adjusted, and teeth added to if required. Furthermore, If they deteriorate or break over time, they can be very easily repaired.
Dentures are very commonly used as an interim prosthesis whilst the mouth is healing for implant surgery. They can be very quickly made and manufactured and are removable.

Aesthetics
By having teeth to replace missing ones, it can avoid the embarrassment of not having teeth and not smiling. This can also result in improved confidence and self-esteem which in turn can have a positive impact on your professional and personal life. Dentures can also be shaped to improve the soft tissue profile of the face which provides a fuller more youthful appearance

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How long have you been at the practice, when was it started?
Lux Dental opened its doors in the lovely village of Quorn in December 2021, but the business actually began as an idea in 2015 by Dr. Ravi and Dr. Anjli. After graduating, they had always dreamed of owning their own dental surgery and building it from the ground up. After several years of searching, they finally found the perfect location in Quorn to bring their dream into fruition.
What is the history of the practice?
The dental practice where Lux is currently situated was previously owned by David Armstrong and operated under the name Armstrong Dental. In December 2021, Dr Ravi and Dr Anjli took over the surgery and rebranded it as Lux Dental.
Since taking over the dental surgery, we have significantly evolved the practice and have plans to continue evolving. We have transformed the surgery from a basic dentistry practice to a multidisciplinary one that now offers complex treatments such as root canals, dental implants, Oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry and adult orthodontics
The Practice now
Since taking over the dental surgery in 2021, we have dedicated a lot of time and resources into creating a practice that is both service and technology orientated. We have fully embraced digital technology and now have an intra oral scanner, which can scan teeth for crowns, implants and Invisalign. Additionally, we recently invested in a CT scanner at our sister practice, which helps us provide the best care to our patients by aiding in the diagnosis of any issues. We have also recently invested in a very “snazzy” laser which helps to repair teeth that may have been deemed unrestorable in the past.
Which partners do you have?
At Lux Dental, we only partner with cutting- edge companies that are leaders in dental technology. We offer Invisalign for our patients looking for straight teeth and work with Straumann for dental implants. Additionally, we have an in-house dental plan run in partnership with Practice Plan that gives patients access to quality dental care, whether it be routine or emergency.
