general dental care

Our general dental care options include:

Dental Check-Ups

When you arrive for your general dentist appointment, you will be greeted by a warm, welcoming receptionist who will direct you towards one of our state-of-the-art surgeries. You will be seen by a highly trained clinician who will discuss any concerns, conduct a thorough examination and propose a treatment plan.

Emergency Appointments

If you are experiencing dental pain, any signs of infection, or you have concerns about your teeth, please contact us to arrange an emergency appointment. These are available to all patients, whether you have visited us before or not.

Hygienist

A dental hygienist can remove plaque that has built up in hard to reach places, cure bad breath, remove surface stains caused by smoking and dietary habits and polish your teeth. They can also answer any questions you may have about your oral health, and provide advice on how to improve your brushing and flossing technique.

Tooth Extraction

Our team understands that removing a tooth can be a difficult decision. Our highly trained team is on hand to support and guide you through the whole process, ensuring the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

White Fillings

For a variety of reasons, teeth can develop decay and holes (or cavities) and require treatment. One of our experienced dentists will be able to remove the decay, clean the cavity and refill the tooth with a filling material.

Root Canal Treatment

Sometimes taking several visits to complete, root canal treatment aims to remove infection from a tooth. If you’re experiencing long-lasting pain, sensitivity or swelling, contact our team immediately.

Dental Crowns

If your tooth has fractured or broken, is discoloured or you’ve recently undergone root canal treatment, you may benefit from a dental crown. They can be made out of different materials, depending on your needs and preferences.

Dental Bridges

An affordable tooth replacement treatment, a dental bridge is permanently fitted into the mouth to replace a missing tooth, or missing teeth. There are different types of bridges available, and the procedure involved varies depending on the type selected.

Dental Implants

A long-lasting tooth replacement solution, dental implants can fix and prevent the issues caused by missing teeth. The entire process, from initial consultation to finish, can take anywhere from 8 weeks to 6 months, depending on the treatment plan, number of implants and number of missing teeth being replaced.

Dentures

Made to replace several missing teeth, dentures can be designed to look very natural and comfortable to wear. They are not permanently fitted into the mouth, instead being held in by resting on the gum or adjacent teeth.

Mouthguards

Often recommended if you grind your teeth or clench your jaw, mouthguards can help to relieve symptoms, whilst also protecting your teeth from breaking.

Sinus Lift

A sinus lift is a procedure in which bone is added between the jaw and maxillary sinus, in your upper jaw, to create room for a dental implant. It is needed where there is not enough bone height in the jaw, or the floor of the sinuses are too close to where the implants would be placed.

Children’s Dentistry

At Lux Dental, children’s general dentistry is at the forefront of our clinical practice. We would recommend bringing your child in for their first appointment at around six months of age.
